As part of the migratory bird campaign “Every Bird Counts: Your Observation Matters”, Grade 7 English students stepped outdoors to discover the birds that share our school environment.
The activity began at the LRC, where students explored books about birds and learned why protecting them matters. Equipped with observation sheets, they headed to the football pitch and the garden outside the Science classroom, ready to observe, listen and record their findings all without screens.
Some students were surprised to discover that more than grackles and pigeons visit our school, while others were thrilled to spot a hawk. Their observations sparked curiosity and encouraged them to reflect on how small actions can help protect wildlife.
Through this hands-on experience, students strengthened their observation skills, developed a deeper connection with nature and reflected on their responsibility to care for the environment.
Observe, Record, Discover and Protect-every bird counts, and every action makes a difference!
