Club Recilectura Visits the Santa Tecla Children's Library

Yesterday afternoon, the Club Recilectura visited the Santa Tecla Children's Library. The club meats every week to work on book and recycling related arts and crafts. One of their goals this school year is to take their work to different libraries and work with the students there, reading to them and creating craft projects.

Yesterday a small group visited a local library in Santa Tecla, where they read to the children and did a few arts and crafts activities with them. Here are a few pictures from the activity that our school librarian has made into a small collage.

You can view pictures from this activity and other LRC activites on Flickr.

Will you need a Book during the holidays?

Do you need books for the holidays? If so you are definitely in luck! You have one more day to check out the books before the holidays, but that is not all!

The LRC will be open as of January 5th, 2015 from 8-1:00 & 2:00-3:00 for checking out & returning books. Do take advantage of these opportunities and don't forget to have a look at our online TumbleBookCloud , QuestiaSchool for IB Humanities! and BrainPop subscriptions. (You will need to be logged in to your ABC account to access them.)

Don't forget that you can always search our catalog from home, as well as access subscriptions and more from the LRC Website.

Happy Holidays!

Book Week 2015 is Fast Approaching!

Book Week 2014 is set to start next week.

During the week teachers and students will be sharing their favourite passages from certain books. You can find their personal posters on the columns, along the corridor in front of the LRC. We will also have our traditional Dress as Your Favourite Character Day, the Book Week Assembly and the Book and Artisans Fair. The Fair will again take place from the Wednesday to the Friday and will highlight book venders from all over central El Salvador as well as local artisans and their products. The LRC will also set up a book box at the circulation desk, to collect new and used book donations for a very needy school in San Vicente. All in all, it promises to be an action packed week, full of book related activities. Check back regularly for further updates.
